Selling clothes and refreshing my wardrobe
After taking inventory of my clothes for the Techwear Wardrobe page, I've realized that I don't wear a lot of the clothes that I own and it's time to let some things go.
Especially when it comes to pants. I have a lot of them that I haven't worn in the last year and I've decided to sell. The main problem I have is comfort, once you've tried some really comfortable pants (ie outlier's climbers), it's hard to go back to raw denim or more restrictive models. Other items I'm selling are really nice and comfortable but just don't fit the style I'm wearing nowadays or I haven't worn them in a while. The plan is to sell them and use the money to replace them with better options.
Some of the things that have been or will be put on grailed or superfuture's supermarket and my reasons to sell them:
Outlier Nyco Slims: The first pants I bought from outlier and the ones I've worn the less. In 2 years I've used them 2 or 3 times. They are the same size I usually wear but they fit small. The fabric is stiff and doesn't have any stretch so they are a bit uncomfortable.
Two pairs of Outlier Three way shorts: They were my favourite shorts last year but a new summer has just ended and I haven't used them at all. I bought the new-way-shorts and the gusseted crotch makes them so much more comfortable that the three ways are dead to me. They are discontinued so outlier probably has the same opinion.
Outlier free way shorts: Made in the same fabric as the futureworks, not too stretchy and they fit small. I got them on the beginning of summer and haven't used them yet. My plan is to replace them next season (and the 3-ways) with a couple of pairs of new-way-shorts.
Outlier OGs Black: I got this pair from a superfuture's user about a year ago but I have never worn them. They are a bit too conservative for me, especially in black. The cut is too wide without any taper and even thought they are super comfortable I don't use them so they are going too.
APC Petit Standard: Got them before I was familiar with outlier and haven't worn them in a couple of years. They are too small for me and extremely constricting, I do like the raw denim look and the cut is awesome but I need them in at least a size bigger. I prefer the dungarees though, it's a similar cut but in a much more comfortable fabric.
Common projects achilles low: I got married in this pair of sneakers and I really like them but they are small for me. Tons of people online will tell you to size down in the achilles.. bullshit. I'm usually a 42, got a 41 in them and they are so fucking tight that I can wait to take them off when I get home. If you want CPs and have wide feet, go true to size. I also found a good alternative for a third of the price, the veja esplar all-white. Good enough for me.
Outlier's cali short sleeve shirt: I just haven't worn it this year, is wide and I don't like the pink/orange colour as much as I thought I did.
That's basically it. I can probably get $1000-1200 from them and the money will be used to get some new stuff. The cool thing about buying stuff from nice brands like outlier, CP, acronym, etc, is that the resale value is great and they are super easy to sell. I use one of the most popular sizes (S, 31) and most things are being sold within a week.
If you have items in your wardrobe that you don't wear anymore, put them on grailed or one of the fashion forums and recover part of your investment, if you are not using it, it doesn't make much sense to keep it.
